About this project
The sales team used to call every new lead by hand before knowing if they were serious. I am building a voice agent (on ElevenLabs) that calls a lead, asks their preferred language, checks the enquiry is real, notes what they need (how many, which size, when and where) and saves it to the CRM. It never quotes prices or negotiates. It hands over to a person. It is still being built: the agent is live on a real account, but saving to the CRM and the phone provider are not done, and no real call has been made yet.
What I did
- Designed one agent that speaks all 8 languages from one shared script, instead of eight separate agents that would drift apart.
- Made language choice quick: it guesses the language from existing lead data and asks one yes/no question, instead of reading out a menu of 8 options.
- Tested ElevenLabs directly and found that 5 of the 8 languages (Bengali, Odia, Telugu, Kannada and Marathi) don't work for agents on this account. I recorded it as an open decision instead of hiding it.
- Wrote the plan for connecting to the CRM: what data goes in and out, 12 new CRM columns, rules for retries and calling hours, and a 3-step rollout.
- Checked the platform's settings against the real system, not just its documentation, and found three undocumented quirks.
